The following was something that occurred to me while at the show tonight. I was thinking about how I never thought there would be a real Van Halen reunion like this and that led me to think that perhaps one day the Guns 'n' Roses album Chinese Democracy will come out. Then I realized - wait, maybe it has been a joke all along. Maybe the message is since democracy in China is so unlikely, so too is another gnr album - hence the title.
Q: What's worse than having a regular cigarette craving despite not smoking in 3 years?
A: That plus getting free promotional cigarettes for showing ones identification - oh sweet temptation
I thought the songs they played instore were now based on popularity of purchase and so holiday music would be played less often than music which people bought on their iphones and ipod touch, itunes, etc. Wrong! Just as much holiday music as ever. Being wrong can be stinky.

Sitting on the bus listening to morrissey. It's great to get out after being in front of the computer all day. Especially nice on the eyes.
I finally got my clie back up and running and installed the software for reading ebooks from project gutenberg. Meshes well with my "less physical stuff" outlook. Abusing the library has done well for me as well. That's what it is there for.

This package of mushroom tagliatelle comes from a pasta house called Morelli, you can visit their website here (the variations of pasta they create, including cocoa infused, are mindboggling!).
I used it in a recipe for Pasta with Basil, Tomato and Lemon Zest. It was very woodsy and nutty in flavour with a firm texture. The mushroom flavour was quite intense and I felt it was a shame to throw out the pasta water as a result. Next time that I have a pasta like this on hand I will find a use for that water :)

I don't know why I don't use my local chocolate more. It's cheaper and repeated accounts state that it is among the best (if not the best) cocoa in the world. It is also infinitely cheaper than the imported brands that line the shelves. Maybe it is because it seems so special and smells so heavenly and decadent that I feel I should squirrel it away? After the results of this recipe though I realize that there is no reason to let this extremely affordable gem go to waste away anymore! :)
